New Doccle and nexuzhealth cooperation digitises patient invoices for 30 hospitals
Leuven, 10 July 2019 – Nexuzhealth, market leader in the electronic patient records, found a partner in Doccle for visualising invoices in the electronic patient portal, mynexuzhealth. A new plug-in displays the invoices, and the payment status will be added later. “The aim is to integrate all healthcare institutions into the system, so all healthcare invoices and information can be accessed and paid for on one platform.”
Nexuzhealth contributes to high-quality, accessible and affordable healthcare in ever new ways. CWS, the common electronic patient file that is used in almost half of the Flemish hospitals, is the basic component to achieve this. In CWS, affiliated hospitals work in one common patient record for each patient, across the borders of healthcare institutions.
The role of patients in their own care is becoming increasingly active. That is why nexuzhealth provides a lot of information via the patient portal and associated app mynexuzhealth.com. Every patient known in a hospital using nexuzhealth can consult their medical record, follow up appointments and communicate with healthcare providers in the portal. The platform currently has more than 1 million active users, and that number continues to grow.
The most recent addition to the platform is the possibility to consult hospital invoices through an integration with Doccle. In a second phase, it will also be possible to pay and track the payment status. “The display of hospital invoices in mynexuzhealth now gives patients a view of the financial aspect of their medical care in one place. That insight gives them more control.” says Gertie Delande, CEO of nexuzhealth.
“The cooperation creates several new benefits for patients. In this way, they receive, pay, share and store all healthcare administration in one place from now on,” adds Bram Lerouge, CEO of Doccle. “By allowing one connection to their Doccle account, patients can access all these invoices not only in mynexuzhealth but also in Doccle.”
The healthcare invoices can therefore not only be consulted in mynexuzhealth, but also in the Doccle archive. They are kept there as long as required by law. Doccle also gives the patient the option of sharing invoices with an insurer or employer, for example. This is useful, for example, when communicating with a hospital insurance company.
The affiliated hospitals are introducing this functionality step by step; some have already started. Users of mynexuzhealth can therefore consult the first invoices in the portal from today.

About nexuzhealth
Nexuzhealth is the Flemish market leader in the management of electronic health records (EHR). Founded in 2016 by UZ Leuven and Cegeka, it builds on 25 years of development of the Clinical Workstation (CWS) within UZ Leuven. Nexuzhealth thus combines the years of experience of both organisations in ICT and healthcare with the passion of a start-up.
By offering transparent and unambiguous cooperation between different hospitals and the patient, nexuzhealth increases the quality of healthcare provision. Work is currently underway to extend this cooperation to primary health care, including general practitioners and home care nurses. In this way, they too will have access to the benefits of an integrated patient record.
Today, 30 Flemish hospitals and care institutions already work with CWS, which accounts for 45% of Flemish hospital beds. Patients are also increasingly visiting mynexuzhealth.com, the platform where each patient of an affiliated healthcare institution can consult their own records free of charge. About 1 million patients already use the record in their contact with their healthcare team, either via computer or smartphone.
